The Cottage is an idyllic 4 star, Silver Award graded Bed and Breakfast in an 18th century modernised stone property set in beautiful gardens in a peaceful village location yet only 2 miles east of Weymouth town and 1 mile to the beach/stunning Jurassic coast.
This friendly B&B is run
by professional hoteliers, where old-fashioned service and cleanliness is guaranteed. Breakfast, which is cooked to order, is served in our Victorian conservatory, dining room or on the patio when the weather permits. The extensive breakfast menu includes such items as scrambled eggs on wholemeal toast with smoked salmon. We use only the finest produce including organic free range eggs, bacon, sausages (sourced from our local farm) and even provide homemade jam and marmalade! We will happily cater for all special diets including vegetarian etc. We have been awarded a silver star for service, attention to detail and our food choice and quality.
The Cottage B+B is in the undiscovered delightful village of Sutton Poyntz (adjoining Preston) with a duck pond surrounded by thatched cottages, an old mill and the village pub. There are
3 pubs, an Italian restaurant and a good fish and chip shop all within easy walking distance of our accommodation. We offer some free
off-road parking, so you can quickly park up, relax and enjoy your stay. You can even use the regular bus service, from the end of the road into town or take a trip along the coast.
The Cottage has one double en-suite, a double and one double/family/twin room with a large family bathroom. Our bedrooms are very comfortable sun-lit and spacious and offer delightful uninterruped views over Dorset hills and fields. As we are on a quiet road with immediate access to public footpaths we are in an ideal position for walkers .
We are close to the ferry port (about 8 minutes away), two golf courses within 6 miles. Dorset's magnificent Jurassic coast and both south west coast paths are easily accessible on foot. Perfect B&B if your children are staying at the PGL at Osmington or you want to be looked after in style by Maureen and Mark whilst your family is staying at either Haven, Weymouth Bay, Seaview, or Waterside caravan parks in Preston. The new Northdown Farm camping site is only 10 minutes walk.Eweleaze Farm camping site is also only about a mile away. Brillantly situated for both the 2012 sailing olympics and the paralympics. Surrounded by natural beauty yet are ideally placed for anyone wishing go walking, cycling or sailing, play golf, deep sea fishing, go horse riding, take a dive, or try paragliding or windsurfing. Or why not take a day trip to the Channel Islands, Bath, Salisbury, Poole or Bournemouth, The world famous Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World are both within 1/2 hour drive from our guest house. The list is endless of places to visit whilst staying with us but suggest you take time out to see Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Lyme Regis, Portland Bill and Abbotsbury to name but a few.We are an exceptional place to stay for just an over night stop or a get away from it all short break. We will obviously be happy to help you plan your trips each day. Come and spoil yourself or treat a relation or friend for their anniversary or birthday! All in all a guaranteed very pleasant, safe and memorable stay whilst offering you excellent value for money. Yes, we are open all year round. As we have proven ourselves to be very popular we suggest you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
