Access Statement for ‘The Cottage’, Puddledock Lane. Pre Arrival: Rail: Weymouth station is 2 miles away and is about £7 by taxi to us. Bus: There are 3 types of No: 4 from the statue on the landward side. Ask the driver for the closest to Puddledock Lane or Seven Acres. There are no steps from any bus-stop to our front gate. On arrival: Plenty of free off-road parking alongside of The Cottage. The main entrance has 3 steps by the gate, then along a crazy –paved path, then down 1 step and 1 up onto the front door itself. The night light will come on once you arrive at the front path. If you need help with your luggage, leave in car and we will pick it up. Reception area: Come in the front door and into the main dining area where there are 3 steps down. This area is fully carpeted. You will be met personally by one of the proprietors. From here you will be shown to your room. Bedroom1 . Up the 11 wooden steps to the upstairs landing. The stair way is open tread with handrail to your right. Once on the carpeted landing you turn to your left. Within 9 paces you will be at the solid oak door. Within you will fid a double bed, 2 bedside tables with touch lighting (no switches at all!) Latest TV. Windows to front garden and the lane beside the house. Bed 1 bathroom. This is accessed from the top of the stairs and turn left. 4 paces ahead of you and on your left is a solid oak door with a brass indicator plaque on it. Modern soft ,cushion floor is laid in the bathroom. And is blue-ish white in colour. The main light is switched via a lightpull on your immediate right as you enter .There is another light above the sink switched via a cord below the light, The toilet is between the door and the bath. The bath is panelled in wood. There is a outward opening glass shower screen. There is a separately controlled elctric powered/heated shower function at the head of the bath. The on/off switch for this is controlled by a pull toggle switch just between the bath and the toilet. The shower has its own thermostat. Bedroom 2 At the top of the stairs one pace to your left is a solid oak door, leading to our largest room. The room is fully carpeted in fine blue wool . Beside the double bed nearest the door is a chest of drawers , within which you will find a hairdryer. On which is an alarm/clock radio. The TV is discreetly hidden in the f left-hand cupboard at the bottom of the bed. Dual aspect windows En-suite shower room. Soft off-white cushion flooring. Power shower. Toilet Pedastal wash hand basin Conservatory/Breakfast room: From the reception area you will face double wooden french doors, through which lies a large area with comfortable seating and tables for breakfast. The floor area is maple wood throughout , except that is by the exit doors to the garden, where the floor is set in coconut matting. Step over the thresh-hold onto the patio beyond. Garden and patio. From the concrete slab are down or up steps to the grass. 4 steps down or 1 up depending which area you are going to . There are no further steps within the garden. |
